So you can relax, knowing everything has been taken care of and all you have to do is count the days to your departure.

When booking your reservation, either a deposit or full payment at the time of booking is required, so please make sure you have sufficient daily spending limits so your credit card company/bank will not block your account. Call the bank ahead of time if you're making a large payment with your credit card.

3D Secure - FOR YOUR SECURITY: CODE AND PASSWORD
At MSC we take your security seriously. Our site uses two systems - Verified by VISA and Secure code by MasterCard - that provide extra protection when paying by credit card online. They both do this using a very straightforward password verification process called 3-D Secure to confirm your identity and ensure your credit card can only be used by you.

The secret password is only known to you as the credit card holder and to your credit card issuing bank, and needs to be entered in a pop-up input window from your credit card bank at the end of the payment process. This prevents your password being stolen by ‘phishing’ and means that even someone who knows your credit card number cannot make a payment in your name.

As a result, our system first asks you to enter your credit card's security code, which you will find:
For American Express cards (four digits), on the front of the card above the credit card number
For Visa, Diners Club, or MasterCard cards, (3 digits) on the signature strip on the back of the card
You will then need to enter your 3-D Secure password to complete the transaction.
The 3D Secure protocol is a fraud protection system used to ensure the security of your payments. If your bank offers this extra security measure but your card is not yet part of this programme, you can activate the service completely free of charge on your bank or credit card’s website, setting a password for your personal information.
Once activated, when you make a purchase online, you will be prompted to enter your chosen password to establish your identity as the cardholder.

To find out whether your credit card already supports 3-D Secure, please ask your credit card company.

On Board Cruise Card

On Board Cruise Card

On Board Cruise Card

Your Cruise Card is your passport to all on-board conveniences, indulgences and luxuries. Every passenger embarking on an MSC Cruise, children included, will receive a personalised Cruise Card. This card acts as your “cruise credit card”, as well as your personal on-board ID card, your cabin key, and your membership card to unlock the benefits of the MSC Voyagers Club.

Life on-board is a cashless system, so you won’t need to keep opening your wallet for every cash transaction – our improved embarkation process allows you to manage your own payments on your cruise cards. Once you are on board, you will need to register your preferred payment method. There will be Cruise Card Activation Points located throughout the ship called “Totems”, where you will be able to register your credit card. This can be done at any time from embarkation until 11:00pm the following day, although your Cruise Card is active from the moment you board.  It is also possible to use a debit card to make a deposit on your cruise card or leave a cash deposit at Reception. This new system enhances security as no collection of credit or debit cards is necessary. It also allows for a faster check-in and smoother disembarkation as accounts can be balanced directly through the Cruise Card Activation.

Once activated at one of the on-board Cruise Activation Points, your Cruise Card offers convenient and simple “swipe and sign” access to all on-board products and services that are not included in your fare, such as beverages, onshore excursions, gift shop items, salon or spa services, photos, laundry, casino, amongst others. It is important to note that it is required that you activate your cruise card before 11pm on the night of embarkation, as only limited purchases will be permitted prior to activation.

The day before the end of the cruise, a final itemised billing statement will be delivered to your cabin, which will need to be settled before embarkation. You can also check your account at the on-board Reception at any time during the cruise. We accept cash, Maestro-branded debit cards, and all major credit cards for the initial activation deposit and end-of-cruise account settlement. All charges will be made in US dollars, except if you are cruising in Europe; then they will be made in euros.

Your Cruise Card will also act as your personal on-board ID, which will be required to be shown to the Security Personnel at the ship’s gangway in order to be permitted to go ashore and when you return to the ship after your onshore excursions. Your Cruise Card also operates as your cabin key – giving you easy and quick access to your private cabin whenever required.

And finally, your Cruise Card doubles as your membership card for the MSC Voyagers Club, offering you access to the club’s many benefits. These include being first to hear about offers, news and events; savings on your next cruise; excusive privileges and special on-board offers; and the ability to earn valuable MSC Voyager Club Points.

Simply put – your Cruise Card makes life on-board simpler and safer – you don’t need to carry your wallet, keys, personal credit or loyalty cards, ID books or passports around with you – your Cruise Card does it all for you for maximum on-board convenience.
